No Sticky Floor Today, Nerd Torture This Weekend

Did you really want to see me struggle through a third Underworld and a movie about Brendan Fraser reading a book to kids? Well, maybe, but I’m taking the week off from Sticky Floor Friday in preparation for Nerd Torture. That’s right, sometime over the weekend I’ll be enduring The Adventures of Pluto Nash, and you’ll get to see the results this week. Awesome!

  1. David S. Goyer Says:

But we wanted to hear your take on the great Kate Beckinsale (Underworld 1&2) vs. the chick in Underworld 3 debate! Who wears the glowing blue eyes better?! And did you even notice it wasn’t Kate in the U3 trailers?

    Well, of course you did.

  2. Nerd With Words Says:

Well, unfortunately Underworld has vampires in it, and we all know how I feel about vampires (that aren’t in the original Lost Boys). But Kate Beckinsale is not really/barely in this movie, which is why she’s not really in the trailer. Also “missing” are Scott Speedman and director Len Wiseman. Sounds more like a Direct to DVD movie, but it’ll probably make money before Underworld fans realize the biggest star is Michael Sheen.

I think our honorable Nerd With Words is missing Mr. Goyer’s point. David is wanting a comparison between Rhona Mitra and Kate Beckinsale, I believe. Allow me to break my silence and finally comment on my new favorite website: Rhona is my new favorite. I’m hoping to cast her in my own new vampire epic. David, you have some knowlege in that genre; would you like to assist me in that venture? I’ll give you a “Story by” credit. My goal is to create a vampire film that even Nerd With Words would enjoy. Although it sounds like I need another viewing of Lost Boys. Care to join me, David? We can discuss the project over some Taiwan beer.
Oh, N.W.W., hope you enjoy Pluto Nash.

  4. Joel Schumacher Says:

Ang! David’s at my place telling me about another fan of Lost Boys, so he shows me this website and how ironic that we catch your post! If you bring the beer, I’ll prepare the screening room!!!! Oh, and Rhona is a doll! She was great to work with on The Number 23. However, David admitted just now that he was confused when he posted earlier. Rhona and Kate both appear in Rise of the Lycans, playing different characters. Haha! If you don’t mind, I’d like to call James Ivory to come join us. He’d love this! And he’s worked with Kate, so we can get his perspective. Although he knows he’d be joining a very set Rhona camp.
Great website, Nerd! Pluto Nash is actually pretty good, if memory serves. Of course, that’s not we’ll be watching tonight!
